When you step out of your car in the car park at Nairn Golf Club, the breeze and the sea will grab your attention immediately. These historic links stretch all along the waters of the Moray Firth, about 20 minutes east of Inverness.
Founded in 1887, its pedigree reads as a who's who of golf architecture: Andrew Simpson laid the original routing, Old Tom Morris expanded it, and James Braid reshaped it twice. Scotland doesn't have a Mount Rushmore of golf, but those are a few of the icons who would be carved in stone if it did.
