All these golf stories have us thinking we should be playing more golf together. Our next event, The Haunting, is on August 11 at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in New York’s Hudson River Valley.

We wanted to get The Old Ghosts community back out together, and Sleepy Hollow was the easy call. The alignment of naming conventions doesn’t hurt, either.

You’ve likely seen the famous par-3 16th. There may be no green in golf that cries out “try your luck” more than the 16th at Sleepy Hollow. With views of the Hudson, the famed Short template, its moat green, and a thumbprint for good measure, it’s about as much fun as you can have on a golf course.

And beyond the golf, the grand clubhouse is one of the great clubhouses in America.

The club was founded by John Jacob Astor IV, William Rockefeller, and Cornelius Vanderbilt III, and designed by C.B. Macdonald and A.W. Tillinghast with assistance from Seth Raynor. The course opened in 1913 and was restored by Gil Hanse and George Bahto in 2017, recapturing the intent of both designers. We can’t wait to get out there together.
